Delivering the Keynote Address at this year’s World EduLead Congress
When I think about my trip to Singapore in April to educate and speak at this year's World EduLead Congress, I'm reminded that I was able to fulfill one of my professional goals; namely, to have a greater influence in the world.
World EduLead, formerly known as World Educational Leadership Summit, has earned an admired reputation for effectively addressing the most important issues facing education today.
For my Keynote and Master Class, I amplified portions of my new book, Radically Excellent School Improvement: Keeping Students at the Center of it All. The book is now available to order!
I identified the components of the school improvement process, and introduced my strength-based Double Helix System of Support, which is a bold framework for ensuring that ALL students learn. I described the collaboration structure needed to ensure deep implementation of a dynamic school improvement process and how a comprehensive coaching model is the connecting fiber of it all.
During my Master Class presentation, I asked my participants to “Dare to Dare.” I asked what was holding back their school district from making radical improvement. The conversations were enlightening! The participants were fully engaged with my radical school improvement process, and I led them through exercises to see what can be pulled apart—and put back together—using my strength-based system.
I had the pleasure of speaking alongside some outstanding educators and leaders in the field—it was an honor to be placed in the same room.
My trip to Singapore gave me a deeper appreciation of other countries' education systems and the opportunity to learn more deeply how students access ambitious instruction. I also learned how my firm can work with others to bring the very best educational opportunities to the full continuum of learners.
I am now opening bookings for the 2024-2025 season for Keynote services. Get in touch with me to see how I can bring radical improvements to your school district!
Traveling the world
While traveling in Singapore for work last month, I held a few things very near to me:
“Far Away Places” by Willie Nelson and Sheryl Crow was always playing in my AirPods
My daughters sent their support from thousands of miles away. Their words, love, and support were my oxygen.
My husband was my biggest fan on the trip. He took pictures and was my PR person. He made a great impression on our hosts.
All the new people I met enriched my soul and made for life-affirming memories.
After work in Singapore, we were off to Thailand! EVERYTHING in Thailand is magical. I walked the temple cities and drank in all those who came before me.
From Thailand, we traveled to Vietnam.
Ah, Vietnam... pictures don’t do it justice. My takeaway from Vietnam was the people. They are so kind and humble. Despite the lingering visible effects of the war, the people tell us they forgive. They want people to come and experience the beauty of the land and its people. The food is so fresh because it comes right from the gardens. Restaurants are run by individuals and their families who go to the market every day to get the freshest ingredients. Everything is made to order, and the prices are so low. I gave more than what was asked because every cent is valued and meant to sustain their lives. I will carry the people of Vietnam with me forever.
